RAMALLAH, Friday, May 1, 2020 (WAFA) – Minister of Health Mai Alkaila confirmed today ten new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), raising the total number of confirmed cases in the Palestine to 517.
Speaking during the daily briefing on the coronavirus pandemic in Ramallah, Alkaila announced that eight of the ten cases were registered in the village of Beit Liqya, in Ramallah Governorate, for a Palestinian worker who just returned from Israel and for seven of his family members who had contact with him.
The two other cases were registered in the nearby village of Kharbatha al-Misbah and in the town of Anata, near Jerusalem, respectively.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in Palestine, the total number of active cases has reached 411, with almost 63 percent of the patients residing in Jerusalem Governorate.
