RAMALLAH, Sunday, April 26, 2020 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities are due to hand over the body of deceased Palestinian detainee Nour Barghouti to his family late on Sunday evening, today said the Palestinian Authority‘s Detainees Affairs Commission.

Barghouti, 23, from Aboud village near Ramallah, died on Wednesday after he fell unconscious in the bathroom in the Naqab prison in the south of Israel. He had been in prison for four years.

According to the commission, it took the prison administration more than half an hour to provide Barghouti with medical assistance only after prisoners started to shout for assistance.

However, the prisoner was later pronounced dead, said the PPS, which then held the Israel Prisons Service responsible for his death for not providing him with immediate assistance, but rather stalling which led to his death.
