Foreign Ministry: 1,066 confirmed COVID-19 cases among diaspora Palestinians

 

RAMALLAH, Friday, April 24, 2020 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry announced today that the number of confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus) cases among Palestinians in the diaspora has risen to 1,066, with 60 deaths.

It said that 14 more Palestinians in the United States have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, raising the total confirmed cases among Palestinian  expatriates in that country to 640.

In Lebanon, the ministry noted, four Palestinians have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Al-Jalil refugee camp, raising the total cases among Palestinians in Lebanon to five.

Six people of the Palestinian community in Brazil have also been tested positive for coronavirus, and were all placed in home quarantine.

No more new cases among the Palestinian expatriates in other countries were reported by the ministry.
