RAMALLAH, Thursday, April 16, 2020 (WAFA) – Government spokesman Ibrahim Milhem confirmed today one more case of novel COVID-19 (coronavirus), bringing up the total cases in Palestine to 295, in addition to 81 cases in occupied Jerusalem.
He said the newly confirmed case belongs to a Palestinian worker who recently returned from Israel. The worker hails from the town of Bani Na‘im in Hebron Governorate, south of the West Bank.
On the cases in Jerusalem, Milhem said the number was obtained from the civil society in Jerusalem given the fact that Israeli occupation authorities continue to refuse to provide the Palestinian government with true figures concerning coronavirus cases among the Palestinian population of the city.
In the meantime, the spokesman added that 110 samples that were randomly taken in Bethlehem Governorate, south of the West Bank, all came back negative.
