RAMALLAH, Friday, April 10, 2020 (WAFA) – A cold low pressure is set to affect the region today, causing temperature to plummet to around 7°C below the seasonal average with partially cloudy to cloudy and cold conditions, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Scattered rainfall, which could be torrential, is set to drop on most districts with occasional thunderstorms in daytime and nighttime. Moderate to active westerly to northwesterly wind is set to blow. Sea waves are medium to high.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 14°C and a low of 7°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 13°C and a low of 6°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 22°C and a low of 13°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 19°C and a low of 13°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Saturday’s temperature is set to remain steady with cloudy to partially cloudy and cold conditions. Scattered rainfall is set to continue to fall on most districts with occasional thunderstorms, with the chance of rain subsiding towards night.
PMD expects a significant rise in Sunday’s temperature, which remains unseasonably low, paving the way to mostly clear and mild conditions in daytime and relatively cold conditions in nighttime, particularly in mountainous districts.
A further rise is expected in temperature on Monday, paving the way to partially cloudy to clear and mild conditions in daytime and relatively to slightly cold conditions in nighttime.
PMD warns people against the formation of floods in flood-prone areas, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility on Friday and Saturday.
