JERUSALEM, Monday, April 6, 2020 (WAFA) – An Israeli court today extended the detention of the Palestinian Authority’s Jerusalem governor.
The court issued a ruling extending the detention of Jerusalem Governor Adnan Ghaith in line with Israeli intelligence’s recommendation. The intelligence objected an earlier court ruling to release him.
Yesterday, Israeli police raided Ghaith‘s house in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan before they detained him.
Ever since he took office in early 2019, Ghaith was detained 17 times by Israeli occupation authorities. He is also banned from entering the occupied West Bank under the pretext of being in contact with the Palestinian leadership.
