RAMALLAH, Wednesday, April 1, 2020 (WAFA) – Ramallah district governor, Laila Ghannam, further restricted today movement in the de facto capital of the Palestinian Authority in an effort to contain the spread of coronavirus outbreak.
Ghannam wrote in her Facebook page that movement for essential purposes will be restricted to the hours between 10 in the morning and 5 in the afternoon.
She said that only pharmacies will be allowed to open past these hours, warning of taking legal action against violators of this order.
Previously movement was allowed between 7 in the morning and 7 at night and only groceries, bakeries and pharmacies were allowed to open. The general public was ordered to stay home.
The governor’s decision came after the Palestinian Authority announced today 15 new cases of coronavirus of Palestinians working in an Israeli factory but live in the Ramallah district, which raised the number of corona cases in Palestine to 134, all except 12, are in the West Bank and the majority concentrated in the Ramallah district.
