JERUSALEM, April 08, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli police Monday afternoon assaulted two Palestinians and detained three others during a scuffle with a group of Israeli settlers in the Old City of Jerusalem.
WAFA correspondent said that police assaulted two Palestinian youths and detained three others after scuffle broke out between Palestinians and a group of settlers carrying out provocative tours in the city.
Among the settlers Oren Hazan, a lawmaker in Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party notorious for violent and racist incitement.
The al-Wad Street extends into the Old City through Bab al-‘Amoud, and leads to several markets, neighborhoods and the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
