RAMALLAH, September 17, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said that the number of prisoners who have died since the onset of the genocide—and whose identities have been confirmed—has risen to 92, including 53 detainees from Gaza.
This follows the announcement of the death of prisoner Moataz Al-Atrash from Hebron.
In a statement issued today, Thursday, the PPS noted that these prisoners died as a result of a system of crimes and violations, including torture, starvation, medical neglect and abuse, sexual assault, mistreatment, humiliation, and the deprivation of basic human rights.
PPS explained that the fate of a number of Gaza detainees remains unknown due to enforced disappearance, while accumulating testimonies and data indicate that dozens of detainees have been subjected to field executions.
This brings the total number of prisoners who have died—and whose identities are known—since 1967 to 329.
Meanwhile, the number of deceased prisoners whose bodies are being withheld by the occupation authorities stands at 100, including 89 who died since the start of the genocide.
