RAMALLAH, September 17, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts hot weather today, Thursday, in mountainous areas and very hot conditions elsewhere. A slight drop in temperatures is expected, though they will remain about 3 degrees Celsius above the annual average.
Winds will be westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate, occasionally picking up speed. Sea conditions will range from slight to moderate.
During the evening and night, the weather will be pleasant in the highlands and warm in other areas. Winds will remain westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate—occasionally active—and the sea will be slight to moderate.
Tomorrow, Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy to clear. A significant drop in temperatures is expected, bringing them about 2 degrees Celsius below the annual average, with a slight chance of light, scattered rain in some areas, particularly in the north. Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, moderate to active, and the sea will have moderate waves.
On Saturday, the weather will be partly cloudy to clear. No significant change in temperatures is expected; they will remain about 2 degrees Celsius below the annual average, with a continuing slight chance of light, scattered rain in some areas, especially the north. Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate—occasionally active—and the sea will be slight to moderate. On Sunday, the weather will be partly cloudy to clear, with temperatures rising to around the annual average. Winds will be westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate—occasionally picking up—and sea conditions will range from slight to moderate.
The Meteorological Department has warned citizens against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, particularly during peak hours (11:00 AM to 4:00 PM), and cautioned against lighting fires in areas with abundant dry grass or leaving children or the elderly inside closed vehicles.
