Israeli police detain seven Palestinians from Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, Friday, March 08, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli police Friday overnight detained seven Palestinians.

WAFA correspondent said that Israeli police detained six Palestinians, including two minors, from Jerusalem’s Old City.

Police also detained an imam and orator of Al-Aqsa Mosque as he exited the holy site on Thursday evening. The detainee was identified as Sheikh Nur al-Din al-Rajabi.

Meanwhile, WAFA correspondent said that Israel handed a Palestinian an order banning him entry to the holy site for three months.

This rises the number of Palestinians detained and banned entry into the mosque compound since the eruption of tensions over the closure of the metal gate leading to Bab al-Rahma prayer area to over 150.
