BETHLEHEM, Wednesday, March 06, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday overnight detained six Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
PPS confirmed in a press release that two Palestinians were detained from the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem.
Israeli forces detained the two young men during a raid in the Bethlehem neighborhood of Wadi Ma‘ali.
In Jerusalem, Israeli police detained a Waqf-appointed guard of Al-Aqsa mosque compound as he was leaving the holy site.
In Ramallah district, PPS confirmed that a Palestinian was rounded up from the central West Bank district.
In the northern West Bank, PPS said that Israeli soldiers detained a Palestinian from Jenin district and another from Nablus district.
Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
