BETHLEHEM, Sunday, March 03, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities on Sunday notified Palestinians in Beit Ta’mar village, near Bethlehem in the West Bank, about their intention to demolish a home in the village, according to Palestinian security sources.
Israeli army broke into the village and handed a notice to Mr. Nayef Hasan Zawahreh, a local citizen, regarding the imminent demolition of his house.
The Israeli authorities claimed that the demolition would take place on the ground that the house was built without an Israeli construction permit.
In recent years, Israeli occupation authorities demolished hundreds of homes in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem on the grounds of lacking an Israeli construction permit, which is almost impossible to obtain for Palestinians under current Israeli policies.
Israel refuses to permit any Palestinian construction in Area C, makes up more than 60 percent of the occupied West Bank and falls under full Israeli military rule, forcing Palestinians to build without a permit to provide shelters for their families.
