RAMALLAH, Tuesday, February 26, 2019 (WAFA) – Weather on Tuesday is sunny, relatively cold and breezy in morning hours, and becomes mostly cloudy, dusty and cold in the evening and night hours with a noticeable drop of temperature, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Sporadic rain is expected on the northern districts in the evening hours, and extends to other districts. Wind is southwesterly to westerly, moderate to active with gusts. Sea waves are medium to high.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 14°C and a low of 8°C and in Ramallah, a high of 13°C and a low of 7°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 24°C and a low of 14°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 18°C and a low of 13°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
A low pressure with a cold front are expected to affect the region on Wednesday, causing temperature to plummet. Cloudy and cold conditions are expected in daytime and very cold conditions in nighttime with torrential rains, thunderstorms and occasional hail on most districts. Wind gusts are expected to reach 60km/h.
PMD expects the low pressure to continue to affect the region on Thursday, causing temperature to further plummet. Considerably cloudy and cold to very cold and windy conditions are expected, along with torrential rains, thunderstorms and occasional hail. Wind gusts are expected to reach 80km/h.
Partially cloudy and mainly chilly conditions are expected for Friday. Scattered light rains are set to fall on various districts, with chances of rain diminishing in the afternoon and evening hours.
PMD warns people against gusty winds, floods in low areas and valleys, low visibility due to fog formation and slippery roads on Wednesday and Thursday.
