Palestinians plant olive trees in Hebron-area land threatened with seizure by Israel

HEBRON, Monday, February 25, 2019 (WAFA) – The Anti-Wall and Anti-Settlements Commission took part in an olive tree planting event in land threatened with seizure for the benefit of expanding the Israeli settlement of Bani Hefer, built illegally on land belonging to Palestinians in the town of Bani Na’im, in the southern West Bank district of Hebron.

Minister Walid Assaf, Head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Committee, who attended the event along with other officials, said this event is part of the popular resistance campaign against the Israeli procedures of confiscating Palestinian land for the benefit of settlement construction, and is aimed at strengthening the steadfastness of Palestinian residents on their land in al-Hamra neighborhood, located adjacent to the said settlement.

Assaf stressed that the Anti-Wall and Settlement Commission will exert all efforts to support the steadfastness and meet the needs of Palestinian residents in Masafer Bani Na’im area, located in area C of the West Bank, which constitutes 60 percent of the occupied West Bank and falls under full Israeli military rule.
