NABLUS, Saturday, February 23, 2019 (WAFA) – Caretaker Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah inaugurated today in the northern West Bank city of Nablus a new cardiac intensive care unit (CICU) at the National Hospital and a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) department at Rafidya Hospital, which is expected to get a new MRI scanner, as part of a government plan to upgrade services provided by Palestinian hospitals.

Speaking at the event, Hamdallah said that a new hospital will also be built in the eastern region of Nablus after a plot of land has been allocated for it.

The prime minister said he has been conducting tours of the Palestinian cities to see their needs, not only in the health sector, but also in education and infrastructure projects.

“We have in recent years started thousands of projects in infrastructure, water, energy and agriculture,” he said, and “not only in the West Bank, but also in the Gaza Strip where we had many projects, particularly in reconstruction.”

Hamdallah ended his visit to Nablus with a meeting for the security officers, who briefed him on the latest situation in the city and efforts to maintain public security and law and order.
