Israeli police detains senior Fatah members in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, Saturday, February 23, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli police detained early this morning senior Fatah member, Nasser Qous, after raiding his home inside the Old City of Jerusalem, according to local sources.

They told WAFA that police also raided the home of Ali Ajaj, 65, and detained him.

Ajaj and Qous led the effort to reopen the gate to Bab al-Rahma building inside Al-Aqsa Mosque compound where thousands of Palestinians performed the Friday Muslim prayer inside it after it was closed at police orders for 16 years.

Police arrested more than 60 Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem over the last few days, most of them Fatah activists, for defying Israeli police orders and reopening Bab al-Rahma building for Muslim prayers.
