Tension high at Naqab prison following Israeli measures against Palestinian inmates

RAMALLAH, Thursday, February 21, 2019 (WAFA) – Tension was high at the Naqab prison in the south of Israel after the administration imposed new measures that affect the 2000 Palestinian political prisoners held in it, said the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).

The prisoners shut down sections in the prison and stopped all daily activities including cleaning the rooms and the tents in a step seen to express their anger at new measures by the Israel Prison Service (IPS) such as placing jamming devices.

The PPS said the IPS brought additional forces to the prison apparently to suppress any additional protests by the prisoners.
