Israeli police detains five Palestinians from Jerusalem

 

JERUSALEM, Tuesday, February 19, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli military police Tuesday afternoon detained five Palestinians from East Jerusalem.

WAFA correspondet said that Israeli military police three Palestinian women after they exited Al-Aqsa Mosque compound through the Lions’ Gate, also known as Bab al-Asbat.

Another Palestinian was rounded up Tuesday afternoon as he exited the mosque compound through the same gate.

Meanwhile, police detained a Palestinian man after storming his family’s house in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Thuri.

They were transferred in police vehicles to a police station in Jerusalem’s Old City. The reason of their detention remains unknown.

This came after Israeli forces detained 16 Palestinians in multiple overnight raids across the West Bank.
