Israel to demolish 2 homes, barn, natural reserve, playground south of Hebron

HEBRON, Monday, February 18, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces notified Palestinians to the east of Yatta area, south of the southern West Bank district of Hebron, about their intentions to demolish two homes, an animal barn, a nature reserve, and a playground for children, said a local activist.

The popular committee coordinator in Yatta, Rateb al-Jabour, told WAFA Israeli forces, accompanied by staff from the Israeli civil administration, distributed notices for the demolition of two homes, each consist of two rooms, in the villages of al-Halawa and al-Tibban.

Another resident from al-Tabban village received a demolition notice for his privately-owned animal barn.

Meanwhile, forces distributed notices for the demolition of a nature reserve and a playground for children in the village of Khasm Um al-Daraj.

The activist appealed to all local and international human rights and humanitarian organizations to intervene in order to curb the Israeli occupation’s practices.

In July 2012, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak ordered the expulsion and demolition of eight villages in the South Hebron Hills, claiming the zone to be vital for Israeli army training exercises.
