RUSSIA, May 16, 2018 (WAFA) – Valentina Matviyenko, Russian Chairman of the Federation Council Wednesday said the United States has caused the situation in the Middle East to explode by pursuing the unjustified decision to move it embassy.

In an interview with ‘Sputnik international’, Matviyenko questioned the urgent need for the immediate relocation of the embassy and said, “The status of Jerusalem has been determined in accordance with various international laws and UN resolutions, and there is no reason to violate this consensus.”

“Will the relocation of the embassy promote stability in the Middle East? Will it solve the Middle East’s problem? Will it provide the right conditions for achieving a sustainable peace between Israel and Palestine? Of course not,” said Matviyenko.

She blamed the US administration and the embassy move for the high death toll in Gaza and said “Someone has to be held responsible for such acts.”
