RAMALLAH, March 17, 2018 (WAFA) – Police seized and destroyed on Saturday 435 illegal vehicles in the West Bank districts of Ramallah, Hebron and Jenin, according to police spokesman Loai Irzeiqat.
He said that after six people have died and dozens injured since the beginning of this year in car accidents some involved illegal cars making it imperative to put an end to the phenomena of illegal cars freely roaming the streets of the West Bank.
He said 11 people were hurt on Friday in accidents that involved illegal cars, six of them had their car overturned in Yatta, south of Hebron, and five in Jamaeen, southwest of Nablus in the north of the West Bank, when they were hit by a driver of an illegal car while he was trying to escape from police.
Irzeiqat said police seized and destroyed 227 cars in the Ramallah-area village of Bittin and Ein Yabroud, as well as Yatta in the south where they destroyed 175 vehicles and 33 in the Jenin-area town of Qabatya.
The police spokesman said this campaign will continue until all illegal cars are removed from the streets.
