RAMALLAH, March 17, 2018 (WAFA) – Protests that raged in the West Bank and on the Gaza border with Israel marking 100 days for the declaration by US President Donald Trump that Jerusalem is capital of Israel were highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies on Saturday.

The papers said dozens were hurt, none seriously, from Israeli army gunfire or tear gas grenades in various locations in the West Bank and Gaza.

Other front page news focused on the killing of an Israeli army officer and a soldier in what the army said was an intentional car ramming attack in the  north of the West Bank while Palestinians insist was a normal road accident.

They said the army raided the village, Barta’a, where the driver of the car has come from,, and arrested his brother.

Al-Quds said two Arab countries are pressuring the Palestinians and Jordan to accept the so-called “deal of the century” the American administration is keen on introducing for a settlement to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

It said India Airlines has announced that it will fly over Saudi air space during trips to Israel, which means an end to decades of Saudi ban on flights over its territories with their destination Israel.

It said US envoy to  the United Nations, Nikki Haley, has presented a bill to cut aid to 40 countries that voted for an anti-US resolution at the UN General Assembly, as she said would happen to punish those who voted for the resolution.

Al-Ayyam said more than 50,000 Muslim worshippers attended the Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Palestine and Dominica signed a joint statement for establishing diplomatic relations between them.
