Israeli forces detain 12 Palestinians in West Bank

RAMALLAH, July 2, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces overnight and early Sunday detained 12 Palestinians, including a legislative council member, during raids across the West Bank districts, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said in a statement.

PPS said Israeli forces detained six Palestinians, most of whom are from al-Aroob refugee camp, in Hebron.

Three Palestinians, including Palestinian Legislative Council Member, Khalida Jarrar, activist Khitam al-Sa’afeen, head of Palestinian woman committee and a former prisoner who spent 16 years in Israeli prisons, were detained in the Ramallah area.

Two other Palestinians were detained in the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, in addition to a man in Jenin.

To be noted, at least 17 Palestinians were detained by Israeli forces during the past two days.

According to statistics issued  by Prisoners Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 6200 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisoners, including 12 Legislative Council members.
