Israeli forces launch strikes on Gaza after alleged rocketing

GAZA, June 27, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli warplanes and artillery launched on Tuesday dawn a series of strikes on multiple locations across the besieged Gaza Strip, hours after the Israeli military claimed that a projectile which was fired from Gaza landed in southern Israel.

Israeli warplanes attacked with missiles multiple locations in the northwest of Gaza city, east of Gaza Valley area, and Nassr neighborhood in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah. The strikes left financial damages to the local population’s homes.

In the meantime, Israeli army attacked with artillery missiles an agricultural land east of Gaza Valley area and another land east of Deir el-Balah city, in the central Gaza Strip.

There were no reports of human casualties, however.

Israel ended its permanent military presence in the Gaza Strip in 2005 in what it called the "Gaza disengagement".

However, the area remains effectively occupied as Israel retains control of its airspace, seafront and all vehicle access, blocking trade and free movement for the territory‘s nearly two million residents.
