RAMALLAH, April 27, 2017 (WAFA) – Fatah Central Committee member Hussein al-Sheikh said Thursday that the ruling movement is serious about ending the division between the West Bank and Gaza.
He said in a statement that “we have a strategic decision to work seriously and diligently and by all means to end the division and push Hamas to the square of reconciliation.”
He added: “We understand the level of hardships and pain our people in Gaza live under after 10 years of coup; but at the same time we know that the dream of an end to the division is the will and decision of the public. Therefore, we want Hamas to show responsibility and take this opportunity and our extended hand to end the division.”
Al-Sheikh added: “Fatah took a strategic decision to use all means to end the division and get rid of the heinous coup that is destroying our Palestinian national project. Our position and stand in facing the Hamas rejection should be one.”
