Settlers attempt to cultivate Palestinian land in Jordan Valley

TUBAS, November 27, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers on Sunday attempted to cultivate a Palestinian-owned land in the village of Sakout, near Tubas in the Jordan Valley, according to local sources.

Muataz Besharat, who monitors settlement activity in Jordan Valley, said Israeli settlers accompanied by agricultural equipment broke into a land near the village and attempted to cultivate it. The land belongs to a local Palestinian villager.

The ownership of the land, which has an area of 3500 dunums, was  reinstated to its original Palestinian owners earlier this year, after being illegally taken over by Israeli settlers.
