Israeli forces detain 14 Palestinians in West Bank raids

RAMALLAH, November 1, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday detained 14 Palestinians, including a minor and an elderly, during overnight raids across the West Bank, said Palestine Prisoner’s society.

Israeli forces detained five Palestinians after storming and ransacking their homes across the southern West Bank district of Hebron.  

Among the detainees were a 14-year-old minor, handcuffed after being summoned to Etzion detention and interrogation center, and a 70-year-old elderly, who reportedly suffers from diabetes and heart problems.

Four other Palestinians were detained during raids into the northern West Bank district of Tubas.

Three other Palestinians were detained during an overnight raid into Talfit village, south of Nablus.

Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, forces raided Qabatiya town, south of Jenin, detaining a Palestinian.

The detainee was identified as a relative of Mohammad Abdul-Khaleq Turkman, who was shot dead by Israeli forces on Monday evening after he reportedly opened fire at soldiers manning a checkpoint near Ramallah, injuring three.

This came as forces raided the family home of Turkman and detained his brother , Muhannad, 22.

In Ramallah district, forces raided Bilin town, west of Ramallah, detaining a Palestinian and ransacking several homes.

This brought the total number of Palestinians detained on Tuesday to 15.
