RAMALLAH, October 24, 2016 (WAFA) – Work is to start soon on rehabilitating Gaza infrastructure from money donated by Kuwait, Minister of Local Government, Hussein Araj, said Monday.

He said his ministry will publish tenders this week for infrastructure projects in Gaza to repair damages caused from Israel’s 2014 military onslaught on the Strip.

A total of $35 million had been allocated by the Kuwaiti Arab Economic Development Fund specifically for Gaza reconstruction, said Araj, and will go to benefit 25 municipalities throughout the Gaza Strip in 62 projects including rehabilitation of roads, water and wastewater systems, buildings and industrial areas within their municipal s.

The $35 million is part of a total of $200 million package agreement the Kuwaiti fund and Palestine had signed for Gaza reconstruction.
