Israel detains son of Jerusalem attacker, making total of three in custody

JERUSALEM, October 15, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained Saturday morning Sbeih Abu Sbeih, the eldest son of Misbah Abu Sbeih who killed two Israelis in a shooting attack in Jerusalem on Sunday before he was shot dead, according to family members.

They said their son was detained at Qalandia checkpoint south of Ramallah while he was on his way to Jerusalem.

With the detention of Sbeih, Israel has now in custody three of the five children of Misbah.

Eman, 17, a daughter, was arrested when police raided the Abu Sbeih residence after the attack. She was remanded until Sunday. Izz Eddin was later arrested. His remand had been extended until Thursday.

Israel had also sealed shut the family’s sweets business in al-Ram, a northern Jerusalem neighborhood, and took measurements of its home in preparation to demolish it.

Palestinians said almost 250 Palestinians were killed since early October of last year during a wave of stabbing attacks, car ramming and confrontations in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip and inside Israel.
