JERUSALEM, September 27, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces on Tuesday demolished four apartments in the neighborhood of at-Tour in Jerusalem, under the pretext of construction without a permit, according to local sources.
Ahmad Abul-Hawa, owner of one of the homes, said an Israeli police force accompanied by heavy machinery broke into the area at midnight, before they proceeded to demolish four apartments, owned by him and his brothers.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces demolished an outdoor classroom in the school of Abu Nawar, a Bedouin congregation east of Jerusalem, also for being built without an Israeli permit.
In the meantime, Israeli army demolished four water tanks in Jorat al-Kheil village, east of Hebron in the West Bank, under the pretext of construction without a permit.
Since the start of 2016, Israeli forces have demolished 586 Palestinian-owned structures, leaving 800 Palestinians homeless in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to OCHA.
According to the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions, Israeli forces have demolished over 48,000 Palestinian homes and structures since the start of the occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem in 1967.
