Two injured during clashes with Israeli soldiers in Nablus

NABLUS, September 22, 2016 (WAFA) – At least two Palestinians were injured early Thursday in the northern West Bank city of Nablus when soldiers fired rubber-coated steel bullets at residents protesting presence of settlers in their city, according to Palestinian security sources.

About six Israeli buses carrying settlers and accompanied by a military escort entered the city after midnight heading toward Joseph’s Tomb, a site Israelis claim is a holy Jewish place.

The presence of the settlers and soldiers provoked clashes with local residents during which soldiers fired used rubber bullets at them causing at least two injuries.

Entry of Israelis into Nablus is normally coordinated with the Palestinian security, which controls the city, to avoid any clashes.
