RAMALLAH, September 20, 2016 (WAFA) - The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused in their Tuesday issue on the Israeli army killing of two Palestinians in Hebron and the injury of another in Jerusalem.
The dailies also focused on the meeting of President Mahmoud Abbas with US Secretary of State John Kerry in New York. Abbas is in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly meeting.
The papers said Abbas and Kerry discussed the latest efforts to revive the stalled Palestinian-Israeli peace process and bilateral relations. No further details were given about the meeting which al Ayyam said was held behind closed doors.
The dailies also highlighted the situation of the hunger striking Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails, particularly the call for a day of rage on Tuesday in support of the strikers.
The papers reported on the clashes between Palestinians and Israeli extremists near the Arab towns of Ara and Arara inside Israel.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Ayyam said that two Israeli settlers stabbed a Palestinian in the Hebron area town of Idna. Palestinian official said that the Injured was in stable condition after being taken to hospital.
