GAZA, September 15, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli warplanes late Wednesday night pounded multiple locations north of the besieged Gaza Strip.
WAFA correspondent said Israeli F16 fighter jets pounded farmlands outside the town of Beit Lahiya with two missiles, spreading panic among neighboring civilians especially children.
The Israeli bombing also caused fire to erupt at one of the bombed farmlands, before civil defense arrived at the scene and pet the fire off.
Israeli warplanes also targeted with two missiles a location east of Shujaeyya neighborhood, east of Gaza city, causing a deep hole at the scene and partial damages to neighboring homes.
There were no reports of casualties in the two attacks.
The Israeli military claimed that the attacks came after a projectile which was fired from Gaza landed in the southern Israel settlement block of Eshkol.
Israeli forces frequently bomb the besieged coastal enclave using disproportionate force in violation of international law.
In July 2014, Israel carried out a deadly onslaught on the strip, claiming the lives of over 2,200 people, overwhelmingly civilians, injuring over 11,100 others and flattening whole neighborhoods, displacing about 475,000 Palestinians.
Israel has placed a tightened blockade on Gaza since 2007 after Hamas took over power in the strip, denying about 1.8 million people of their basic rights and as a result causing a decline in their standard of living, unprecedented rates of unemployment and poverty.
