Israeli army issues mass eviction orders in southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, May 3, 2026 (WAFA) — The Israeli occupation army on Sunday morning issued eviction orders to residents of several towns and villages in the Nabatieh district in southern Lebanon.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, the Israeli military ordered residents of 11 towns and villages to leave their homes and move at least one kilometer away. The affected areas include al-Duwayr, Arabsalim, al-Sharqiya, Jebchit, Baraashit, Sarifa, Dounine, Buraik, Qaqa’iyat al-Jisr, and Kafr Sir.

The orders came alongside continued airstrikes, artillery shelling, and demolitions across multiple areas, despite a ceasefire in place until May 17.

Dozens of Israeli air raids were reported in Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil, Tyre, and Jezzine, targeting residential homes, roads, vehicles, and infrastructure, in addition to ongoing shelling and explosions in border towns, particularly in Bint Jbeil and its surroundings.
