RAMALLAH, September 8, 2016 (WAFA) – The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Palestine during August 2016 increased by 0.35 percent compared with July 2016, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Thursday.
It said CPI increased by 0.77 percent in Gaza Strip and by 0.66 percent in the West Bank, while it decreased by 0.36 percent in Jerusalem.
The CPI during August 2016 increased by 0.45 percent compared with August 2015. The index increased by 1.03 percent in the West Bank, while it decreased by 0.84 percent in Jerusalem areas outside the Israeli-ruled parts and by 0.48 percent in Gaza Strip.
The CPI during the first eight months of 2016 increased by 0.25 percent compared with the same period of the previous year. It increased by 0.35 percent in the West Bank, while it decreased by 1.43 percent in Jerusalem and by 0.14 percent in Gaza Strip.
