HEBRON, July 31, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Sunday detained an elderly Palestinian and his son from the Hebron area, as well as summoned three others from the Ramallah area for questioning, according to local sources.
Israeli forces detained Mas’ood al-Khateeb, 60, and his son Mohammed, during an Israeli military raid into Tal Rmedeh area, in central Hebron.
Forces further erected military checkpoints at the entrance of al-Thahriyeh to the south, as well as deployed their troops near al-Fawwar Refugee camp and Hebron’s southern entrance, stopping and inspecting the identity cards of passing Palestinian-registered vehicles.
Meanwhile, forces handed three Palestinian youths from Ramallah’s town of Silwad notices ordering them to appear before the Israeli intelligence for interrogation.
Clashes reportedly broke out between Israeli soldiers and the town’s locals, where the former fired a barrage of tear gas canisters and stun grenades. However, no injuries or arrests were reported. Forces further fired live ammunition into the air to intimidate the locals.
