HEBRON, June 28, 2025 (WAFA) – Armed Israeli colonists, under the protection of occupation forces, set up tents on Saturday in a plot of land in the Aqabat al-Sabarna area of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, in what residents fear is a prelude to land seizure.
According to local activist Mohammad Awad, the colonists from the nearby Karmi Tzur colony, which is built on privately-owned Palestinian land south of Beit Ummar, set up tents on a 28-dunam plot of land owned by Sami Abdul Hamid Bahar, planted with almond and grapes trees.
Awad reported that the land contains two water wells used for irrigation. Colonists filled one of the wells with stones and prevented the landowner from accessing the property.
In a separate incident, anti-settlement activist Osama Makhamreh said Israeli forces seized a truck in the village of Khallet al-Daba’a, part of Masafer Yatta in southern Hebron. The vehicle belonged to a resident of Idhna.
Makhamreh added that in recent days and weeks, the Israeli military has confiscated three vehicles on the pretext that the area is a military zone and designated firing range.
