Egypt condemns escalating settler violence in occupied West Bank

CAIRO, June 28, 2025 (WAFA) – Egypt has strongly condemned the repeated attacks carried out by Israeli settlers against Palestinian civilians in various towns and villages across the occupied West Bank, the most recent of which resulted in the killing and injury of several Palestinians in the village of Kafr Malik.

In a statement issued Saturday, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the ongoing assaults as systematic violations against the Palestinian people and a flagrant breach of international law and the Geneva Conventions. The statement warned that such actions undermine all efforts aimed at achieving peace, security, and stability in the region.

Egypt called on the international community to take urgent action to end these flagrant violations and to assume responsibility in confronting the ongoing injustice suffered by the Palestinian people under occupation. The statement also urged the enforcement of accountability and the provision of protection for Palestinians against settler crimes.

Reaffirming its longstanding position, Egypt reiterated that all Israeli settlements in the occupied Arab territories are illegal and constitute a major obstacle to reaching a just resolution to the Palestinian cause.

The statement concluded by affirming Egypt’s full support for the Palestinian people in their pursuit of legitimate national aspirations, including the establishment of an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
