HEBRON, April 14, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday blocked the Jerusalem-Hebron Road and closed all Palestinian-owned stores located at the main entrance of Hebron’s town of Beit Ummar, according to a local activist.
Spokesperson for the Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements, Muhammad ‘Awad, told WAFA Israeli forces manning a permanent military checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Ummar closed all commercial stores situated at the town’s entrance and blocked the Jerusalem-Hebron road, preventing Palestinian registered vehicles’ presence in the area.
They further detained a 16-year-old boy and led him to ‘Karmi Tsur’ settlement, built illegally on the town’s land. This brings the total number of Palestinians detained on Thursday to 29. The teenager was identified as Deyya’ ‘Odeh al-‘Alami.
