RIYADH, July 25, 2025 (WAFA) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has welcomed the announcement by French President Emmanuel Macron expressing his country's intention to officially recognize the State of Palestine.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the decision as a “historic step” that reflects international consensus on the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The ministry emphasized the importance of continued international efforts to uphold international law and implement relevant United Nations resolutions concerning the Palestinian issue.

Saudi Arabia also reiterated its call on all countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to take similar positive and serious actions in support of peace and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
