OTTAWA, July 25, 2025 (WAFA) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has condemned the Israeli government's failure to prevent the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip.
In a post on X, Carney criticized Israel for obstructing the delivery of Canadian-funded aid to civilians in Gaza, describing the move as a violation of international law. He emphasized the need to shift control of aid distribution away from Israeli authorities and into the hands of international agencies.
The Canadian government signaled its intent to push for international accountability and reiterated its support for diplomatic solutions.
Carney confirmed that Canada will actively engage in next week's United Nations conference in New York, which is set to focus on advancing a two-state solution.
