Journalist Adam Abu Harbeed killed in Israeli airstrike on tent shelter in Gaza City

GAZA, July 25, 2025 (WAFA) - Palestinian journalist Adam Abu Harbeed was killed last night when Israeli warplanes bombed his family's displacement tent in the Al-Yarmouk area in central Gaza City, according to medical sources.

WAFA correspondent reported that Abu Harbeed's children sustained varying degrees of injuries in the same attack. The journalist had been displaced from his hometown of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip and was sheltering in a tent after fleeing the Israeli offensive there.

This incident comes amid ongoing Israeli attacks that have increasingly targeted media professionals. Just one day earlier, on Wednesday, journalist Walaa Al-Jaabari, who was pregnant, was killed along with her five children and husband, Amjad Al-Shaer, in a separate airstrike. The bombing was so intense that the unborn child was expelled from her womb due to the blast.

According to the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, 35 journalists have been killed since the beginning of 2025 through the end of June alone. Since the start of the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, a total of 229 journalists have been killed by Israeli forces, the Syndicate reported.
