CAIRO, July 25, 2025 (WAFA) – Egypt has welcomed the announcement by French President Emmanuel Macron regarding his country’s intention to recognize the State of Palestine.
In a statement released on Friday, Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the move as a significant step in support of international efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The ministry called on all countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to do so, underscoring the importance of reaffirming the international community’s commitment to a just and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue.
The statement emphasized that such recognition would contribute to the principles of peace and justice, and uphold the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, particularly their right to self-determination.
