RAMALLAH, April 14, 2016 (WAFA) - The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Palestinian Territory slightly increased in March 2016 by 0.05% compared to February 2016, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said Thursday.
It said CPI increased by 0.92% in Jerusalem, while it decreased by 0.12% in the West Bank, and by 0.20% in the Gaza Strip.
CPI during March 2016 increased by 0.32% when compared to March 2015; it increased by 1.01% in the West Bank, while it decreased by 1.41 in the Gaza Strip and by 1.35% in Jerusalem.
It said that CPI during the first quarter of 2016 increased by 0.63%, when compared with the same period of the previous year.
The change in CPI for March 2016 was attributed to changes in prices of dried vegetables, imported cigarettes education services, liquid fuel for houses, vegetable oils, and fresh meat, which increased by 16.92%, 3.49%, 2.25%, 2.24%, 1.09%, and by 0.79%, respectively.
