Israeli Forces Detain Five Palestinians in West Bank

NABLUS, April 13, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces on Wednesday detained at least five Palestinians, during predawn raids in the West Bank districts of Nablus, Hebron, Tulkarm, and Bethlehem, according to local and security sources.

In Bethlehem district, in southern West Bank, Israeli army broke into the village of Beit Fajjar and detained 15-year-old Anas Deriya, after raiding and searching his family home.

Forces also stormed the nearby village of Khalayel al-Lawz, pelted stones at local Palestinians’ homes and raided and searched a house after smashing its main door.

Meanwhile in Nablus district, Israeli troops stormed the village of Urif and detained 22-year-old Mohammad Shehadeh, a university student, after raiding and searching his family home.

Army also broke into the nearby village of Beit Dajan, where they detained Nasir Abu Thabet, 22, also a university student, after raiding and searching his family home along with other homes in the village.

Meanwhile in Hebron, in southern West Bank, Israeli forces detained Hesham Qawasmeh, a local Palestinian, after raiding and searching his house.

This came after Israeli authorities at Karameh border crossing, on Palestine-Jordan border, detained a Palestinian from Hebron while on his way back home from abroad. He was identified as Dawoud Abu Turki, 32.

In the meantime, Israeli forces stormed the city of Tulkarm, in northern West Bank, and detained Mohammad Jarrar, 20, a student at Palestine Technical University, after raiding his home in the city.
