Newspaper Review: Three Missing Men Found near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, April 10, 2016 (WAFA) – The three major Palestinian dailies focused on Sunday on the finding of three Palestinian young men, who went missing about a week ago, in mountains near Ramallah by the Palestinian security.

Al-Ayyam reported that Israeli forces quelled a rally organized by Palestinian activists in Hebron in protest of Israel’s continuing settlement activities.

Al-Quds and al-Ayyam said Israeli troops opened fire on fishing boats off Gaza, as well as detained tens of Palestinians during military raids across the West Bank.

Al-Hayat Al-Jadida and al-Quds quoted Secretary General of the Presidency, Tayyeb Abdul-Rahim, who said: “The Saudi-Egyptian summit is a glimmer of hope in the way to reinforcing the Arabic national security”.

Al-Ayyam and Al-Hayat Al-Jadida said Hamas police in Gaza prevented by force a conference which called for achieving Palestinian national reconciliation.

Al-Hayat Al-Jadida and al-Ayyam quoted Secretary General of the Teachers Union, Saeed Ezreqat, who said that a new deal for the administrative staff in the Ministry of Education will be released soon.

Al-Ayyam daily said an upcoming Palestinian draft resolution at the United Nations will confirm the illegality of Israel’s occupation, and calls on it to immediately halt all kinds of settlement activity.

Al-Quds reported that the U.S. administration said it was early to speak about a UN resolution on ending the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

Al-Ayyam reported that Israeli military bulldozers withdrew from the outskirts of Rafah, in southern Gaza Strip, after razing Palestinian-owned lands there.
