HEBRON,
August 3, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained early Monday five Palestinians
and summoned another from Beit Ummar town to the north of Hebron in the
southern West Bank, reported a local activist.
According
to Coordinator of the Popular Committee against Wall and Settlement Muhammad
Awad, Israeli forces raided the town, where they detained two Palestinians
after breaking into and ransacking their families’ houses.
The
two detainees were identified as Hamza Ikhlail, 18, and Nour Arar, 19.
Arar’s
father was handed a notice ordering him to appear before Israeli intelligence
in the ‘Gush Etzion’ interrogation and detention center.
Local
media (PNN) reported that forces detained other three Palestinians during the
raid.
The
detainees were identified as Rami Ibrahim, 22, Mayes Hammad, 19, and Ayesh
Awad, 19.
Furthermore,
forces raided Adh-Dhahiriya and Yatta towns, located to the south of the city,
as well as several neighborhoods across the city. They also set up checkpoints
at the northern entrance of the city as well as the entrance of Sa‘ir, a town
to the northeast of the city, where they stopped and examined
Palestinian-registered vehicles and inspected passengers’ ID cards.
This
came as dozens of armed Israeli settlers forced their way into the old town of
Arnaba (Khirbet Arnaba) to the west of Halhul, a town to the north of the city.
Protected
by Israeli forces, three truckloads of settlers stormed Khirbet Arnaba, where
they performed Talmudic rituals and prayers.
