RAMALLAH, June 11, 2015 (WAFA)
– The cold-blooded murder of a Palestinian teenager in Jenin refugee camp by
the Israeli army on Wednesday hit the front page headlines of the three Palestinian
Arabic dailies in their Thursday issue.
The dailies said Izz-Eddin Bani
Ghara, 20, was shot dead with a live bullet in the chest during an Israeli army
crackdown on Jenin..
Al-Ayyam printed a photo of
Ghara’s relatives dressed in black and crying during the funeral in the Jenin
refugee camp.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida reported on
the government condemning what it described as a crime and called for immediate
international intervention to put an end to these violations.
On a different note, al-Quds
said hunger striking prisoner in Israeli jails Khader Adnan entered his 37 day
in hunger strike against being detained without charge or trial, known as
administrative detention.
The three dailies reported on a
report by Military Court Watch (MCW), a West Bank-based human rights group,
which accused Israel of maltreating Palestinian minor prisoners.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Quds said
President Mahmoud Abbas called for reviewing the political, security and
economic agreements concluded between the PLO and Israel.
Al-Ayyam said Abbas reiterated
his objection to a temporary peace solution with Israel, and said he was
committed to achieving a real national reconciliation and elections.
Al-Quds said Israeli Minister
of Public Security pledged to allow Jews to perform rituals at al-Aqsa Mosque
compound in Jerusalem, the third holiest place in Islam, which triggers almost
daily confrontations between Palestinians and Israeli police.
Al-Ayyam said French Foreign
Minister Laurent Fabius called for reviving peace negotiations between the
Israelis and Palestinians based on mutual trust and an international
sponsorship.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Israeli
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu renewed his rejection of “intervention” by
any international parts in any upcoming peace talks with the Palestinians.
Al-Ayyam said Hamas Interior
Ministry in Gaza accused political and security elements in the West Bank of
being behind a recent series of car combings in Gaza. It said Fatah denied the
claims by Hamas and described them as “trivial”.
