BETHLEHEM, May 25, 2014 (WAFA) –
President Mahmoud Abbas Sunday awarded Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros
al-Rahi, the Maronite Patriarch of Antioch, the star of the Jerusalem medal.
Abbas awarded al-Rahi in
recognition of his national stances, his religious position and contributions
at the regional and international levels, as well as for his role and the role
of Lebanon for its support of the Palestinian people and their just cause.
The award also came in
recognition of his bravery, his visit to Jerusalem and his support to the
steadfastness of its people as well as a gratitude for his prayers to achieve
peace and stability in the holy land of Palestine.
